(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Kulathunga K.P.N.; Gunasekara V.M.
The purpose of this research is to identify the impact of workload on job stress among nurses in general hospitals in the Kegalle District. In addition to that, this study intends to contribute to filling the knowledge gap by looking into the relationship between workload and job stress among nurses. Although there is literature on workload, job stress and locus of control in the western context, there is a dearth of research in the Sri Lankan context to test the impact of workload on job stress among nurses in general hospitals. This study explored the relationship and examined the impact of workload on job stress among nurses who work in general hospitals in Kegalle District while considering the locus of control as the moderator. This research is deductive (theory–testing) research. The research was conducted using a survey research strategy and quantitative research method. General hospital nurses in the Kegalle District were chosen as the population of the study. The sample size was 265 and data collection was done through a self-administered questionnaire. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), version 23.0, was used as a tool for data analysis, and both descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation and regression were used to analyze data. The results indicate that there is a positive impact of workload on job stress among nurses in general hospitals in Kegalle District, and locus of control does not moderate the relationship between workload and job stress among nurses.

The Abans Finance PLC executive level employees were chosen as the population of the study. The sample size was 190. Data collection was done through a self-administered questionnaire. A Google form was created and distributed to collect data. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), version 23.0, was used as a tool for data analysis, and both descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation and regression, were used to analyze data. The results indicate that perceived supervisor support has a strong negative relationship with occupational burnout, and workload significantly moderates the relationship between perceived supervisor support and occupational burnout.

(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Ekanayake, H.E.; Karunarathne, R.A.I.C.
One of the major challenges facing Human Resource Management (HRM) today is presenteeism, which has a detrimental effect on employee productivity, which in turn affects corporate productivity and goal achievement. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent employee presenteeism, which is defined as turning up for work when unhealthy. The study aimed to determine the following three things: 1) to find the impact of workload on employee presenteeism; (2) to find the impact of co-worker pressure with understand the effect of supervisor pressure. This study has an analytical approach, a cross-sectional time horizon, and an individual unit of analysis. A literature review offered some empirical evidence upon which a theoretical framework was developed. A simple random sampling strategy was used to collect survey responses from 170 non-executive employees of Brandix Essential Koggala from a leading apparel industry company in Sri Lanka. It was found that employee presenteeism ranges from average to high, with workload, coworker pressure, and supervisor pressure. The findings of this study showed that there is a significant positive impact.
