    Factors Affecting Employee Turnover Intention among Non- Managerial Employees in Selected Financial Companies in Colombo District

    Human capital is a dominant element of today's’ business world. Nowadays, Employee turnover is one of those who are one of the problematic issues in business. The intention to leave has received tremendous attention and significance from top management, human resource professionals and other industrial psychologists. It has proven to be one of the most costly and difficult human resource challenges faced globally by different organizations. The main purpose of this research was to discover the real causes behind the turnover and its harmful effects on the productivity of many industries, especially financial companies. The study had studied many sources related to the non-banking financial company sector in Sri Lanka and observed the causes for turnover. This study aimed to discover the reasons for turnover and factors affecting turnover intention among non-managerial employees. Using simple random sampling technique, the sample of the study was 150 non-managerial employees who are working in those financial companies located in Colombo district. Sample collected represent 50% of the total population. Findings showed that the employee turnover intention has a significant relationship with the variables of job satisfaction & supervisor support, but it had an insignificant relationship with salary and the other benefits and organizational culture. Whereas, the major contributor to turnover intention was job satisfaction.

    Job Satisfaction and Intention to Leave: A Study of Financial and Internal Audit Executive Staff of Public Universities in Sri Lanka

    This study aims to measure the relationship between job satisfaction and intention to leave among the Financial and Internal Auditing Executive officers in the Public-Sector Universities in Sri Lanka. The objectives of the study are; to measure the level of job satisfaction of financial and Internal Executive Officers in the Public Sector Universities in Sri Lanka, identify the factors affecting the level of job satisfaction of financial and Internal Executive Officers in the Public Sector Universities in Sri Lanka and examine the influence of the level of job satisfaction of Financial and Internal Executive Officers in the Public Sector Universities in Sri Lanka on their intention to leave. Two models were used to measure the influence of variables; Model A assessed the relationship between the selected job-related factors and the level of job satisfaction. Model B measured the relationship between job satisfaction and intention to leave. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential (correlation, multiple regression analysis) statistics. One hundred and thirty executive staff members were selected through Proportionate Stratified Random sampling method from the public-sector universities in Sri Lanka. Questionnaires were administered to gather data and 128 questionnaires were received. Five job related factors; salary, promotion, training and development, relationships with co-workers and working conditions were selected for the study. The study’s findings show that there is a negative relationship between job satisfaction and intention to leave among the Financial and Internal Auditing Executive officers. Three factors; salary, relationship with co-workers and working conditions have shown a significant positive effect on the job satisfaction. Eexistence of negative relationship between job satisfaction and intention to leave from the organization will give signal for the authorities of higher education to consider that if the satisfaction is lower then there is a possibility of leaving from the organization.

    Determinants of Employee Job Satisfaction: A Case of ABC (Pvt) Limited

    This study focused on investigating factors affecting job satisfaction of non-executive employees in ABC (Pvt) Limited. The study used quantitative methods and survey strategy was followed. Data were collected using a standard questionnaire from 101 non-executive level employees. Findings revealed that there is a strong relationship between salary and job satisfaction and poor relationship between supervisor support and employee job satisfaction. Findings suggest to provide a reasonable salary for employees in order to enhance their job satisfaction and improve management practices to train supervisors, obtain frequent employee feedback to ensure supervisor support while removing communication barriers

    Impact of Job Satisfaction on Organizational Citizenship Behavior

    Although a vast amount of researches have been done on the relations of job satisfaction and Organizational Citizenship Behaviours (OCB) in western or foreign context, there is a little empirical evidence in domestic context. Further, researchers argue that OCB can be diverse in different cultures. Thus, this study was conducted to identify the impact of job satisfaction on OCB in Sri Lankan context. Sample of the study was 70 managerial level employees in Hirdaramani Knit Apparel Wathurugama and Kiridiwela clusters and used personally administered questionnaire developed using standard measures. Multiple linear regression was used to test the developed hypotheses while percentage and graphs were employed for the purpose of descriptive analysis. The findings showed that job satisfaction significantly impact on OCB. Furthermore, the study examined the impact of dimensions of job satisfaction both extrinsic and intrinsic on OCB and revealed intrinsic job satisfaction explains more on OCB than extrinsic job satisfaction. Therefore, this study highlights the significant of maintaining employees’ job satisfaction and specially providing intrinsic motivational factors to enhance OCB

    The Impact of Mentoring on Job Satisfaction: A Study of Operative Level Employees in ABC Company Limited

    The current study assesses the impact of mentoring on job satisfaction of operative employees in ABC Company of Sri Lanka. For this study, the questionnaire survey was administrated to collect primary data. The results show that there is a positive relationship between two dimensions of career mentoring on employee job satisfaction. Such dimensions are formal mentoring and informal mentoring. Those effects were tested using data collected from a sample of 83 operative employees from ABC Company of Sri Lanka, and Morgon Sample Calculator was used to determine the sample size. Descriptive analytical method was used for analyzing data by using SPSS analyzing software. This study has helped to establish a foundation for the study of job satisfaction and mentoring. This study contributes to the literature on the relationship between mentoring and job satisfaction. Considering the potential cascading effect that a good relationship can have on job satisfaction, the paper shows that previous researches may have underestimated the impact of mentoring on job satisfaction.

    The Impact of Internal Communication on Job Satisfaction: A Study of Executive Level Employees in Apparel Industry

    The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of internal communication on job satisfaction of the executive level employees in a company operates in the apparel sector in Sri Lanka. Further it was focused to identify which internal communication method has the higher impact on job satisfaction. For this study, researcher randomly selected 70 the executive employees from a company operates in the apparel sector in Sri Lanka. To analyze the collected data, different analytical methods used such as descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship of internal communication as well as the sub-variables of internal communication with job satisfaction. Regression analysis was used to identify the impact of internal communication on the job satisfaction and to further analysis to identify the most significant sub-variables of internal communication which impact on the job satisfaction. Correlation results shows that there is a positive strong relationship between internal communication and job satisfaction. Moreover, the regression results indicates that internal communication significantly influencing job satisfaction

    The Impact of Employee Non-Financial Incentives on Employee Turnover in Apparel Industry: With Special Reference to Operational Level Employees of Apparel Firms in Biyagama Export Processing Zone

    The main objective of this study is to examine the impact of non-financial incentives on turnover intention through job satisfaction. For this purpose, this study empirically evaluated the three dimensions of non-financial incentives (Job Enrichment, Worker’s Participation in Management and Employee Recognition), job satisfaction and impact on the turnover intention. The sample consisted of 100 operational level employees working in apparel firms in Biyagama Export Processing Zone in Sri Lanka. Data were gathered by using a convenience sampling technique through self-administering questionnaires. Descriptive Statistical Analysis were used to analysis the existing situation of three dimensions. The strength of the linear relationship between two variables were measured by the Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient and the mediation effect of job satisfaction was assessed through Baron and Kenny mediation assessment technique. The analysis exposes that there is a strong negative relationship between employee non-financial incentives and turnover intention. Further it evident that job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between non-financial incentives and turnover intention. Researcher discussed and suggested that the apparel sector companies should be taken the appropriate strategies to develop the competitive advantage and employee work life improvement

    The Impact of Job Satisfaction on the Employees’ Perception towards Work Performance: A Study Based on Small and Medium Scale IT Companies in India.

    The Indian IT industry is having many challenges in managing their employees. Performance management is done in a more structured way in large IT companies, whereas it is not done in the same way in the small and medium IT companies. This research analyzed and investigated job satisfaction dimensions and various demographic characteristics of the employees and their perception of their performance by conducting a survey in small and medium-sized IT companies in Coimbatore, India. The data for the survey was collected using self-administered questionnaire based on COPSOQ and industry employee effectiveness surveys. The data was quantitatively analyzed using Z-test, Chi-square and one-way ANOVA. Findings revealed that indicate that there is a significant correlation between job satisfactions, feedback, employee satisfaction on the perception of performance. Further, this paper presents the limitations of the study and suggestions for the improvement of the perception amongst the small, medium IT industry.

    Spirituality: A Boon for Organizational Performance.

    Organizational management is one of the contemporary delinquents, most of the organizations have to address. The issues like job satisfaction, employee commitment and employee performance are the crucial factors of organizational management. Spirituality is a prominent and actual factor that can speed up satisfaction, commitment and performance. A substantial research gap connecting spirituality with job satisfaction, employee commitment and employee performance exist. This study reconnoiters the link between spirituality and job satisfaction and the influence of job satisfaction on employee commitment and performance. The study adopted a survey method to collect data from teachers from six different streams. To measure convergent and discriminant validities, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was adopted and later tested the structural model framework and research hypotheses. Findings of the current study suggest that spirituality has a direct influence on employee satisfaction and also endorse the linkages between job satisfaction, employee commitment and performance.

    EVALUATING WORK FAMILY CONFLICT AND SOCIAL SUPPORT AMONG PROFESSIONAL WOMEN WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO TAMIL NADU.

    In today’s era, the business success relies on the worker skills and capabilities. Now a day workfamily conflicts is turning into expanded consideration due to work pressure and family responsibilities. The primary objective of the study is to find out the influence of work family strife and social support on job satisfaction among the employees. Work Interference with Family and Family Interference with Work are the two dimensions of work family conflict and social support has three dimensions Organizational support, Family support and Friends support. This study examines the extent of work family conflict among respondents on the premise of occupation and marital status. This study additionally verify the impact of work family conflict and social support on job satisfaction Questionnaire technique was accustomed to collect the data and every data were analyzed using SPSS t test, one way ANOVA, correlation and SEM was utilized in this study. The result shows that the amount of work family conflict is high among the married women comparing to the unmarried respondents. Job satisfaction among the employees is based on the organizational support providing to them.
