Item IMPACT OF WORK INTERFERENCE WITH FAMILY ON EMPLOYEE WELLBEING: A STUDY OF REMOTE WORKERS IN THE IT BASED ORGANIZATIONS - MODERATING EFFECT SOCIAL ISOLATION(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Randika, L.B.Y.; Wijewantha, P.The aim of this research will revolve around analyzing the impact of work interference with family (WIF) on the wellbeing of employees and the moderation of social isolation among remote workers in IT-based organizations in Sri Lanka. Based on Work-Family Conflict Theory and Conservation of Resources Theory, the approach used in this study was quantitative. Accordingly, data collection was from 182 executive-level employees who responded to a self-administered questionnaire. These results showed that there was a significant negative relation between work interfering with family and the employee well-being, (β = -.751, p 0.90.) These findings extend the extant literature by demonstrating heightened effects of work – family conflict in remote settings and identifying social isolation as a critical boundary condition. The present research has several implications for organizations managing remote employees, in particular in extending considerable policies for boundary management and creating ways for encouraging social connectivity.Item Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Organizational Commitment: Evidence from the Construction Industry of Sri Lanka(Paper presented at III Human Capital in Enterprise and Economy – Perspective of Management and Economics Conference, University of Szczecin, Poland, 2018) Wijewantha, P.This study examines the relationship between OHS management practices and employee organizational commitment in the construction industry of Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the purpose of this study, based on literature is to examine the impact of employee psychological contract on job satisfaction. As such, this study has one hypothesis, which checks the direct effect of psychological contract of employees on their job satisfaction. The population of the study is non-managerial workers in the selected organization. Since it is not practically possible to deal with the whole population, a sample of 88 employees was selected using the convenience sampling technique to conduct the survey. This quantitative study follows the deductive approach. The survey instrument was a self-administered anonymous questionnaire developed using standard measures available for variables and it is in English language. The measure for job satisfaction was adopted from the validated Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (Short version of the MSQ) and Psychological Contract Inventory (PCI) developed by Rousseau was used to measure that variable. The data collected were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0. The findings show a significant, positive impact of employee psychological contract on job satisfaction. This study has three limitations such as single source bias, examines limited factors affecting job satisfaction, and focuses on a small sample.
