Item Determinants of Career Indecision among Management Undergraduates in Sri Lanka(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya., 2022) Galhena, B.L.; Kumanayake, P. N.The main purpose of this study is to identify the significant factors affecting career indecision in light of state university management undergraduates in Sri Lanka. In the light of literature, five independent variables namely self-efficacy, parental influences, the economic condition of the country, poverty level and career counselling facilities were identified. The sample was derived from 153 final year management students from two metropolitan and two rural state universities. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect the necessary data. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. As per the key findings of the study, self-efficacy is the most significant factor impacting career indecision. Further, findings reveal that parental influences and career counselling services significantly explain the career indecision among the respondents. An understanding of the determinants of career indecision of management undergraduates is important for career counselling firms as they can pursue strategic intervention to reduce the level of career indecisions among management undergraduates. Further, the policymakers would be benefitted from these findings as they can understand the gravity of the problem along with the root causes behind the issue.Item Undergraduates’ Satisfaction on Zoom e-Learning Application: Empirical Evidence from Management Undergraduates(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, 2021) Chandradasa, A.H.I.; Galhena, B.L.E-learning is developing as the new paradigm of modern education. The global e-learning business is growing at a 35.6 percent annual rate and still there are failures. The success of elearning systems is predicted mainly on user satisfaction, and unknown about factors that influence to learners to leave their studies after their initial encounter and why they are dissatisfied. The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that might impact on undergraduate satisfaction regarding the use of zoom applications for e-learning. Theoretical foundation was laid for the study from empirical findings based on that conceptual framework was developed. Data was collected from 213 Management undergraduates of University of Ruhuna by using a questionnaire survey. Results of the study indicated that perceived quality, perceived value, and technology self-efficacy positively impact on undergraduate’s satisfaction of using zoom application for e-learning. Further, the study found that perceived utility has a significant negative impact on undergraduates’ e-learning satisfaction by using zoom. The study was conducted from a student point of view and implies that what are their actual desires on e-learning specifically the zoom application. Based on the findings stakeholders can pay attention to taking necessary actions to fulfill students’ needs and for guiding them to gain higher satisfaction of e-learning and finally it will lead to the overall success of implemented e-learning system.Item Career Indecision among Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Undergraduates in Sri Lanka(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, 2021) Muthugamage, C.D.; Galhena, B.L.Grounding for career is one of the crucial responsibilities for young people. Career indecision is the difficulties faced by individuals when making decisions regarding their career which is a dynamic phenomenon that is being vicariously explored presently. Nevertheless, previous studies were done in most of the developed contexts and there were no adequate studies have been done in this regard in a Sri Lankan context. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to identify the significant factors affecting career indecision of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutes’ undergraduates in Sri Lanka. Five independent variables namely Career Anxiety, Internships, Self- Efficacy, Perceived Social Support and Career Counseling were identified to assess the impact made upon career indecision. The sample was derived from 500 students from National Institute of Business Management. Multiple regression analysis was then used to test the hypotheses. As per the key findings of the study, self-efficacy is the most significant factor impacting upon career indecision. Further, findings reveal that Internships, Perceived Social Support, career anxiety and Counselling have significant impact to the career indecision among the respondents.
