Item From Clicks to Carts: Exploring the Role of Unboxing YouTube videos in Driving the Smartphone Purchasing intention of Generation Z and Millennials in Sri Lanka(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya., 2023) Dilshan, H. P.; Patabendige, S. S. J.User-generated videos (UGVs), that is, videos generated by users as opposed to by manufacturers or sellers, have become increasingly popular, especially with Generation Zs and millennials. Using platforms like YouTube, UGVs create awareness and influence purchasing decisions through reviews. This study aims to better understand the effects of UGVs by focusing on their role in smartphone users' purchasing intention. The study draws on the uses and gratification theory, which contends that media users actively search for content that satisfies specific needs such as information seeking, social bonding, entertainment, and time passing. Data was sourced from an online survey involving 390 respondents from the Generation Z and millennial cohorts in Sri Lanka. Analysis revealed that viewing unboxing videos addresses all four gratification motives, while the information- seeking motive stood out as the primary driver. These findings provide valuable guidance for UGV creators and marketers in general on optimising content strategy.Item Effect of Airport Efficiency Dimensions on International Tourists’ Satisfaction in Sri Lanka; with Reference to Bandaranaike International Airport(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya., 2023) Madhushanka, P. It was a well-known fact that Bandaranaike International Airport has been listed out to the most inefficient international airports in South Asian Region. By using quantitative research approach and deductive reasoning the researcher has incorporated SPSS with Smart PLS statistical packages for the data analysis. Using simple and multiple linear regression analysis, the nature of the relationships has been measured between airport efficiency dimensions and international tourist satisfaction. 150 foreign tourists have participated for the sample and as for the findings, the researcher has found that, all the hypotheses are accepted denoting that relationships between independent variables and dependent variable are positive relationships and security is the most influential airport efficiency dimension.Item The Role of Social Entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya., 2023) Nimeshi, G.K.S.; Surangi, H.A.K.N.S.In recent years, there has been a growing body of literature on social entrepreneurship, yet researchers in developing countries have not adequately explored this field. A.This study investigates the impact of crude oil prices on Indonesia's Sharia stock market, considering inflation as a moderating variable to address existing debates in prior research. Utilizing data from June 2011 to December 2021, including the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), World Texas Intermediate (WTI), and inflation, the study employs Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to uncover significant positive correlations between crude oil prices and the Sharia stock market. The findings highlight the moderating role of inflation, indicating that the market weakens when crude oil prices rise alongside inflation and strengthens in the absence of inflationary pressures. Practical implications suggest portfolio diversification for investors to manage associated risks. The study contributes theoretically by introducing additional moderator variables and offers empirical insights, yet acknowledges limitations, advocating for further research to deepen the understanding of the complex relationship between crude oil prices, inflation, and the Sharia Stock Market in Indonesia.Item Efficiency and Performance of Microfinance Institutions: A Systematic Literature Review(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya., 2023) Herath, H. M. A. K.; Azeez, A. A.; Priyashantha, K. G.This study was conducted to find out common knowledge in the empirical literature pertaining to the performance and efficiency of microfinance institutions (MFIs), as well as the areas that require more attention for future research. The systematic literature review (SLR) technique was applied and the article selection and findings were reported according to the PRISMA guidelines. 69 empirical journal articles between 2013 and 2023 were included from Scopus database. (1) Efficiency of MFIs (Financial & Social efficiency) (2) performance of MFIs (Social & Financial Performance), (3) sustainable performance of MFIs, were identified as the three most common knowledge clusters. The review established that efficiency and conventional performance analysis of MFIs differ in methodologies and perspectives. Further, it was found that performance assessment, efficiency measurement, productivity, sustainability, and outreach of MFIs are infrequently investigated areas. Financial efficiency, social efficiency, financial performance, and social performance of MFIs were also identified as averagely investigated, creating avenues for more future studies. Accordingly, data were analyzed using SPSS software after removing outliers. To evaluate the data, the study employed descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. According to the findings, Time risk was found to be not significant for purchasing online. Delivery Risk and Information security risk were the top-ranked determining variables among the major elements. Consequently, by reducing their perceived risk, this research assists in educating all dealers on how to draw clients to their online platform.
