    The Impact of Leader’s Emotional Intelligence on Employee Retention Intention: Evidence from a Leading Organization in Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry

    The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the Emotional Intelligence (EI) of managers and retention intention of their direct reports. The findings are discussed in terms of a business case and it was conducted in one of the leading organization in the field of Fast Moving Consumer Goods in Sri Lanka, targeting the head office staff employees. The employees were given questionnaires to complete in order to assess their retention intention and to rate the level of EI of their leaders as how they perceived it. Correlation analyses were then performed with the data. The statistical results showed that the leaders’ EI has a significantly moderate and positive impact on the retention intention of their direct reports. The results of this study contribute to current insights about the interrelationships on managers’ EI and employee outcomes, showing the importance of improving EI within organizational leaders

    The Impact of X and Y Generation Difference on Employee Motivation

    The purpose of this research paper is to assess the impact of X and Y generation difference on employee motivation in ABC Private Hospital. In this study, X and Y generation difference was taken as the independent variable and employee motivation was taken as the dependent variable and assess the impact of the generation difference on five motivation factors from the Herzberg Motivation Theory; Growth, Achievements, Job Itself, Recognition and Advancement Motivation. The main objective of the study is to assess the impact of X and Y generation difference on employee motivation. There are five specific objectives and six hypotheses were developed in this study. The data was collected from 50 back office staff members from the hospital by using the convenient sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was distributed to collect primary data and the data was analyzed using the Independent Sample T Test. The study revealed that there is a difference of each generation’s motivation factors. X generation employees prefer Achievement motivation while the Y generation employees prefer Job Itself motivation. It is recommended that the employer should have a sound knowledge on each generation’s preference and should satisfy two distinct generations according to their preference in order to retain them for a long time.

    Impact of Employees’ Emotional Resilience on Employees’ Work Performance: A Study of Executive and Above Level Employees in Private Sector

    When operating in a complex work environment, it’s obvious that the companies will have to face for many challenges. Here, if the company need to survive, the company should adapt according to that. It is mandatory to have more resilient people within the company in order to face such changes successfully. And the sudden changes and the sudden workplace conflicts and the situations will create stressful work environment for the employees who are working in a company. The sole purpose of this study is to identify the impact of the ability of individuals to quickly bounce back from stressful situations and how does it affect to the work performance. Questionnaire was distributes among the selected sample and the sample encompasses 70 respondents. Once the analysis was done, the results depicted that there is a 24.4% of impact is there from resilience on employee performance. The findings of this research will be beneficial for the companies to hire most resilient individuals for the successful future who can adopt and who can quickly bounce back

    A Study on Factors Affecting to Job Seeker’s Intention to Use E-Recruitment: With Special Reference to Final Year Undergraduates of University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka

    In this digital world, jobseekers prefer to use electronic recruitment for job search. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the factors that influence to job seekers’ intention to use e-recruitment in Sri Lanka. A questionnaire was drafted for data gathering and primary data were obtained from fifty-seven job seekers those who were final year undergraduate of university of Kelaniya. The proposed research framework is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with the extended construct of perceived trust. Simple regression reveals that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness significantly influences on job seekers’ intention to use e-recruitment while perceived trust does not have a significant influence on job seekers’ intention to use e-recruitment. The findings of the study would be important to the firms to effectively carry out e-recruitment practices to increase the appropriate pool of applicants and to design a most effective job portal

    The Impact of Work Family Conflict on Organizational Citizenship Behavior: A Study of Middle Level Employees in a Leading Insurance Company in Sri Lanka

    The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of work family conflict on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in a leading insurance company in Sri Lanka. This study is carried out as a quantitative explanatory research work. Furthermore, questionnaire method is applied to data collection. And also, the sample is selected randomly and used simple random sampling technique. Questionnaires were distributed to sample of 57 of employees. To analyze received questionnaires data, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) was used. In order to analyze data descriptive statistical techniques, correlation and coefficient and simple regression analysis were used. The statistical results revealed that there is a significant strong negative relationship between work family conflict and OCB. The simple regression analysis shows that work family conflict is a strong predictor of OCB
