Item The Impact of Work-Life Balance on Career Advancement of Executive Level Female Employees in ABC Company(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Dabare, P. P. M.; Devadas, U. M.The main objective of this study is to find out the impact of work-life balance on the career advancement of executive level women employees in a Sri Lankan Apparel company. This study further emphasized to find out the relationship between work-life balance and women’s career advancement, to find out the impact of work-life balance on women’s career advancement, finally to provide solutions for balance work-life while advancing their careers. The sample size of the research was 76 executive level female employees who currently work in the ABC Apparel Company and this sample was selected using the simple random sampling method. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted as quantitative research. A standard questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Descriptive statistics, Reliability, Pearson Correlation and Simple Linear Regression were used for analyzing the data and make conclusions. The main limitation of this research was the limited time frame. Findings for the research questions revealed that there is a weak positive relationship between the work-life balance and women’s career advancement. Further, there had a 9.5% significant impact of work-life balance on women’s career advancement in the ABC Apparel Company and also concluded that there is a 9.5% variation of work-life balance on women’s career advancement and the remaining unexplained 90.5% could be due to other factors which are not considered in this study. Finally, the female employee who is working in the ABC Apparel Company has a moderate work-life balance and very high career advancement. Also the researcher recommended in implementing a supportive culture, which provides work-life benefits and opportunities for their female executives while providing proper career paths which they can advance in their career as well.Item The Impact of Customers’ Perceived Level of Employee Diversity on the Customers’ Loyalty at Regional Development Bank(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Chathuranga, W. J. L. I.; Devadas, U. M.This study mainly discover about The Impact of Customers’ Perceived Level of Employee Diversity on the Customers’ Loyalty at Regional Development Bank. In here researcher consider four diversity characters of employee i.e. Diversity of Age, Diversity of Gender, and Diversity of Language & Diversity of Nationality. The main objective of this study is to identify the impact of employee diversity on the customer loyalty in banking sector organization. Researcher used standard questionnaire for data collection. 100 Regional Development Bank customers represent as a research sample from five Regional Development Bank branches. Then researcher data analyzed descriptively using Frequencies, Tables & figures. Outcome of this study is that there is a Positive Impact of Customers’ Perceived Level of Employee Diversity on the Customers’ Loyalty at Regional Development Bank. M. J. M.; Devadas, U. M.The objective of this study is to identify whether there is a relationship between team characteristics and team effectiveness. Accordingly five themes were derived from literature representing team characteristics i.e. Job Design, Interdependence, Composition, Context, and Process which assessed with a forty eight items questionnaire while team effectiveness was assessed with an eleven items questionnaire. Paying an individual interest, the researcher gathered data from fifty two clerical employee respondents who work in nine banks in Colombo district to conduct this research. The correlation and regression tests were used to test the developed hypotheses in order to check the validity of the research base. Research findings reveals that there is a positive relationships between team characteristics and team effectiveness, Job Design and team effectiveness together with a positive impact of team characteristics on team effectiveness except for Composition. The ultimate findings of this study will assist in implementing teams with positive characteristics in order to achieve the effectiveness towards the organization success. Finally, the researcher recommended that in order to achieve the effectiveness of teams through its characteristics, team characteristics should be clearly observed and managed when making teams and working in teams where in each stage of organizing the team, those characteristics should be adapted and developed accuratelyItem The Impact of the Internship Experience of Undergraduates on their University to Work Success(5th HRM Student Research Symposium 2018, Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2018) Amarabandu, H. D. H. I.; Devadas, U. M.The purpose of this research is to assess the impact of the internship experience of undergraduates on university to work success. In this study, the researcher used a standard questionnaire regarding the internship experience and the university to work success to collect primary data from the management graduates that passed out from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies of the University of Kelaniya in 2017. Gathered data was analyzed using correlation and regression analysis and research findings indicated that there is a moderate positive relationship and significant positive impact between Internship experience of the undergraduates and university to work success. Therefore, undergraduates should more focus on their internships to develop their soft skills and the higher education institutions need to focus their practical training programs as well. Because this internship experience is most important to an undergraduate to achieve a better career success. Further, this study would be more helpful to initiate a larger scale study on the internship experience on the career success
