Item CHALLENGES IN THE ADOPTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR EMPLOYEE TRAINING WITHIN ORGANIZATIONS IN COLOMBO, SRI LANKA(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Weerasuriya N.S.; Weerakkody, W.A.S.The adoption is artificial intelligence (AI) in the training methods in human resource management (HRM) is changing the way in which business organizations operate presenting multiple innovative solutions to develop the workforce. However, even though the adoption of AI in training would generate a multitude of benefits, organizations face many challenges when integrating AI in employee training modules. Through this research the challenges related to the adoption of AI in employee training will be explored within companies based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This study mainly focused in a qualitative data collection approach where data was gathered through a mixed methods questionnaire which was distributed to five companies which constituted three large scale and two small-scale companies spanning across multiple industries. Further a quantitative approach was also used in order to gather data which was generated using the Linkert scales from the mixed-methods questionnaire. The findings if this study focus upon four critical challenges organizations encounter when adopting AI in training namely, cost constraints, infrastructure limitations, employee resistance, and knowledge gaps. Smaller companies displayed higher significance with the challenges related costs and infrastructure, whilst larger companies reported moderate significance to issued related to infrastructure and employee resistance. Further differences were also observed regarding the significance of these challenges across different industries. Through generating valuable insights of these critical challenges, the study provides logical and practical data for organizations when adopting AI in their employee training systems. Through this study organizations would be able to understand the various challenges related to the adoption of AI in employee training therefore can use the findings in order to ensure a smoother and successful transition towards AI-driven training methods.Item Customer Readiness and Adoption Potential of Fintech in Sri Lanka: An Empirical Investigation Using Online Platform(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies University of Kelaniya., 2024-11-11) Weerasinghe, K.G.; Hettiarachchi, T.R.; de Zoysa, R.P.S.; Kethmi, G.A.P.This study investigates the readiness of Sri Lankans to adopt fintech and explores its adoption potential. The research uses demography, financial health, financial literacy, e-readiness, mental preparedness, and overall sentiment toward fintech as independent variables, with Customer Fintech Usage (CFU) as the dependent variable. The objectives were to assess the relationships between these factors and fintech usage and to build an index representing fintech readiness. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire from a sample of 396 respondents across all nine provinces of Sri Lanka, derived from an internet user population of 1,458,000 as of January 2023. Regression analysis revealed that while demographics and mental preparedness did not show significant relationships with fintech usage, financial health, financial literacy, e-readiness, and overall sentiment positively influenced CFU. The model accounts for 42.14% of the variability in fintech usage (R-squared = 0.4214). Additionally, the findings indicate that a Customer Fintech Readiness Index can be constructed based on the supported relationships. The findings indicate that although Sri Lanka’s current fintech readiness is relatively low, there is strong potential for growth in the future as these factors continue to evolve.Item The Factors Influencing on Internet Banking Adoption in Sri Lanka(Department of Marketing Management, University of Kelaniya,Sri Lanka., 2017) Mangalee, J.D.C.; Wijenayake, S.I.In this present era of technology, every individual is being affected by technology. E-banking technology has wide acceptance throughout the world. It is getting popular day by day and the development and success of internet banking in Sri Lanka depends on the customers‟ acceptability of this concept. Although there were lots of researches had been conducted related to the adoption of internet banking in foreign countries, the researches relating to Sri Lanka is limited. The underlying purpose of this research is to evaluate the factors influencing on internet banking adoption in Sri Lanka. In here model was developed through online survey. Five hypotheses were developed and this model was tested with 100 respondent western province in Sri Lanka. The response of the respondents was quite appreciated and the response rate was about 82%. Reliability and regression technique are employed to study the relationship. Perceived risk, perceived trust, perceived usefulness, social influence, perceived security factors were used to measure customer adoption of internet banking. The results of data analysis showed that above factors have impact customer adoption of internet banking. The results also propose that demographic factors impact significantly internet banking adoption in Sri Lanka.Item Factors Influencing Green IT Adoption in Sri Lanka(Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, 2016) Kawshala, B.A.H.In recent decades, environmental sustainability had become a hot topic being discussed by academicians and practitioners. The increase of environmental problems such as pollution, global warming, scarcity of foods, depletion of natural resources and solid waste had drawn attention from governments sector, communities as well as business organizations. Hence, going green is the latest approach that emphasized. Green Information Technology (IT) is part of the effort by business organizations to be green. This study aims to investigate factors influencing green IT adoption by Audit & IT firms in Sri Lanka. As well as an understanding of the determinant factors is essential for practitioners to best implement green practices. In attaining the study objectives, using random sampling method a quantitative approach was used by distributing survey questionnaire to randomly 100 sampled Audit & IT firms in Sri Lanka. The findings from this study serve as guideline for top management to understand factors that motivate organizations to invest in green IT. This study is also useful for researchers to further investigate on other drivers, values and antecedents of green IT.
