THE IMPACT OF JOB SATISFACTION AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING BEHAVIOR ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE
(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Prasadika, S.K.S.; De Silva G.H.B.A.
This study examines the impact of job satisfaction and knowledge sharing behaviors on employee performance in organizations. Job satisfaction, characterized by employees’ overall feelings of satisfaction with their jobs and the fulfillment of their roles, plays a critical role in increasing productivity and commitment. When employees are satisfied, they are more likely to engage in positive behaviors that contribute to their performance, including collaboration and innovation. Knowledge sharing behavior, on the other hand, is defined as the willingness to share expertise, skills, and information with colleagues, fostering a collaborative work environment, and promoting collective problem-solving. This research shows that high levels of job satisfaction led to increased knowledge sharing behavior, which in turn improves individual and team performance. By analysing data from a variety of organizational settings, the study aims to provide insights into how fostering job satisfaction can create a culture of knowledge sharing, ultimately leading to improved employee performance. These findings are expected to provide valuable implications for managers seeking to enhance organizational effectiveness by prioritizing employee satisfaction and encouraging open communication and collaboration among team members. This research contributes to the existing literature by linking two critical factors – job satisfaction and knowledge sharing – thereby highlighting their combined impact on enhancing employee performance and organizational success.

(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Bandara Y.G.T.L.; Karunarathne, R. A. I.C.
Personality and job satisfaction have become increasingly valuable concepts across theoretical and empirical domains, reflecting their critical importance in organizational behavior research. In the context of globalization, businesses around the world face unprecedented challenges in maintaining competitiveness. It significantly impacts workforce dynamics, employee perceptions, attitudes, and overall job satisfaction. Personality and psychological capital (Psycap) play an important role in predicting employee satisfaction, shaping employees' overall outlook on work and maintaining a positive mindset. Thus, understanding the interplay between personality and psychological capital is necessary for today’s organizations seeking to design effective strategies to enhance employee satisfaction in a competitive business environment. Therefore, this study aims to understand how employee personality affects job satisfaction and examines the effect of psychological capital on the relationship between personality and job satisfaction. Accordingly, this research study was conducted as a cross-sectional study with quantitative research design and data collected through a structured survey questionnaire. The population was managerial-level employees of ABC Tyre Manufacturing Company, and the sample comprises 169 managerial level employees participated in this study. Researchers used descriptive statistics, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and Andrew F. Hayes' PROCESS for SPSS (v.4.3) Model 4 to test the hypotheses. The results of this study showed that personality has a significant positive impact on job satisfaction. Furthermore, the results showed that psychological capital has a significant partial mediating effect on the impact of personality on job satisfaction, indicating that the effect of personality on job satisfaction varies positively with psychological capital. Moreover, findings of the research study contribute to the persistence of existing theories and the knowledge gained from this study will primarily help ABC company's organizational system to understand the personality and positive psychological capital of employees and implement evidence-based strategies that foster a satisfied/positive workforce.

IMPACT OF LOCUS OF CONTROL ON JOB SATISFACTION OF OPERATIONAL LEVEL EMPLOYEES AT COCONUT OIL MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN SRI LANKA
(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Madushan, G.G.T.; Gamage, P.N.
The study empirically investigates the impact of Locus of control on job satisfaction of selected coconut oil manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka. The study's specific objectives are to identify the effect of Locus of control on employee job satisfaction, to analyze the relationship between locus of control and job satisfaction, to analyze the relationship between dimensional perspectives of locus of control and to recommend suggestions to enhance job satisfaction. The data was collected using a simple random sampling technique, and the sample size was 238 operational-level employees in the company. Out of 238 employees, 226 respondents were selected to analyze the data. A structured questionnaire was administered to collect the data, and that was analyzed using SPSS version 23.0. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Locus of control was evaluated using the two dimensions, i.e., Internal and external locus of control. The study's findings revealed that locus of control positively correlates with job satisfaction (r = 0.352, p< 0.01). Moreover, the findings indicated that the Internal locus of control has a positive significant relationship with job satisfaction. Still, the external locus of control negatively correlates with job satisfaction among operation-level employees. The study concluded that while there is a negative relationship between external locus of control and job satisfaction, the positive impact of internal locus of control on job satisfaction outweighs and mitigates this negative effect. According to the findings, the coconut manufacturing industry should implement strategic human resource practices to enhance the level of positive mindset of employees to enhance their job satisfaction.
