Item EXPLORING THE EFFECT OF TECHNOSTRESS ON CYBER LOAFING, MEDIATING EFFECT OF SELF CONTROL DEFICIENCY(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Jonathan, J.J.J.; Ekanayake, E.M.H.LTechnology plays a vital role in acquiring the attention of society. While seeking attention requires competence, a more skillful workforce is required. That’s where technology comes into play. This possesses pros as well as cons. This research points outs the drawback of technologies. Therefore, this study examines the impact of technostress on cyberloafing among undergraduates in Sri Lanka, with self-control deficiency as a mediating factor. Technostress, caused by excessive dependence on digital technologies, can negatively affect students' focus and academic performance. A quantitative, cross-sectional research design was adopted, and data was collected from 437 undergraduates using a structured questionnaire. The sample was selected through simple random sampling, and data analysis was conducted using correlation and regression analyses in SPSS inserting the sample size of 437. The Sobel test was applied to assess the mediating effect of self-control deficiency. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between technostress and cyberloafing. The Correlation between Technostress and Cyber Loafing was 0.333 which is statistically significant (0.001) and as per the regression analysis, the R square was 0.11 where the significance value was 0.001, indicating that students experiencing higher levels of technostress are more likely to engage in non-academic online activities. Additionally, Sobel Test was conducted, where the P value was 0.116 which is statistically significant where self-control deficiency was found to be significantly mediating this relationship, suggesting that technostress weakens students’ ability to regulate their online behaviors, leading to increased cyberloafing. The study concludes that managing technostress is essential in reducing cyberloafing among undergraduates. It recommends that universities implement digital well-being programs, self-regulation training, and awareness campaigns to help students manage technostress effectively. Educators should integrate structured digital learning environments and promote time management strategies to reduce the negative impact of excessive technology use. By addressing technostress and enhancing self-control mechanisms, educational institutions can foster a more focused and productive academic environment, ultimately improving students' performance and well-being.Item IMPACT OF TECHNO STRESS ON ACADEMIC PRODUCTIVITY: A STUDY OF THE UNDERGRADUATES IN THE FACULTY OF COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF KELANIYA(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Pavithra, S.; Ranasinghe, V. R.There has been increasing interest among researchers in understanding the negative effects of technology in the last two decades. Technostress or stress induced due to technology is extensively reported in the literature among working professionals. Even though there has been an increased proliferation of digital devices in academia, there is a dearth of studies examining the prevalence of technostress and its impact on students. The main aim of this study is to investigate the impact of technostress on academic productivity among students of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya. The population of this study is 2376, and the sample is 332 selected through the random sampling technique. A standardized questionnaire was administered online through Google Forms to obtain primary data. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23.0 was used as a data analysis tool, and descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation and regression, were used to analyze data. Findings reveal that technostress and dimensions of Technostress negatively impact the academic productivity of the undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya.Item IMPACT OF TECHNOSTRESS ON JOB DISSATISFACTION OF MANAGERIAL LEVEL EMPLOYEES IN GLOVE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY, SRI LANKA(Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka., 2025) Madhushani, K.G.B.I.; Gunasekara, V.M.This study investigates the technostress on job dissatisfaction, evidence from managerial level employees in glove manufacturing industry, Sri Lanka. Information and communication technology (ICT) plays a significant role in the world today. The impact of ICT will have significant effects on most organizations on both individual and workplace performance. With the use of ICT in workplaces, organizations have been able to increase their productivity and efficiency at a rapid pace. This issue is notably significant in high-value addition sectors such as the glove manufacturing industry. The employees who work in the glove manufacturing sector face significant turnover issues due to inability to manage their job dissatisfaction, especially among managerial level employees. Hence, the researcher aims to examine how the technostress impacts on job dissatisfaction of managerial level employees in glove manufacturing industry, Sri Lanka. This research is deductive in nature. The research was conducted using a survey research strategy and a quantitative research method. Sample for the study was 172 managerial level employees and data collection was done through a self-administered questionnaire. The statistical package for social science (SPSS), version 23.0, was used as a tool for data analysis and both descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation and regression, were used to analyze data. The results indicate that perceived techno overload, techno invasion, techno complexity have a positive relationship on job dissatisfaction.
