    IMPACT OF CYBERLOAFING ON JOB PERFORMANCE: INVESTIGATING THE MEDIATING ROLE OF SELF-CONTROL – AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF IT PROFESSIONALS IN COLOMBO DISTRICT, SRI LANKA

    This study with the advancements in communication technology, the state of the communications network has become considerably improved. When it comes to organizations, they are moving towards digitalization, and it leads to a rise in internet usage within the workplace. Employees are misusing company-provided internet instead of using it for work-related tasks. Therefore, the objective of the current study was to identify the impact of Cyberloafing on Job performance and the mediating effect of self-control. Cyberloafing is a most attack to cybersecurity. Hence this study is quantitative and cross-sectional study which was based on an organization in IT industry employees. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire and 138 employees participated in this study. The data was analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Employees in the sample have shown a higher degree of engagement in Cyberloafing. Among them, more than 80% of the employees were highly engaged in cyberloafing activities during the Work time. The analyzed results show that there is a significant negative impact of cyberloafing on job performance. Further, it is found that while there is a significant impact of self-control as a mediator on the relationship between cyberloafing and job performance. Further, that, since a negative relationship exists between cyberloafing and job performance, in IT work setting. Further, the conducive to the enhancement of individual self-control, there is a likelihood of cultivating a counterproductive workforce. Therefore, the current study suggested that to conduct the study by considering all organizations in the business world within Sri Lanka and organizational support and self-control policies that will help employees to maintain better job performance to get an effective output.

    THE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY INTERVENTION ON STRESS MANAGEMENT WITH MEDIATING EFFECT ON THE JOB SATISFACTION OF PRODUCTION LEVEL EMPLOYEES IN THE RUBBER PRODUCTS MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN COLOMBO DISTRICT

    This is a study that investigates the influence of technology on stress management as mediated by job satisfaction within a cross-section of production employees in the rubber manufacturing industry in Colombo. The speeding advancement of technologies has impelled new ways of stress management for employees in rubber products manufacturing industry and its consequent impact on overall job satisfaction. The research has been conducted by taking quantitative approach methods, collecting data through surveys from 103 samples drawn from the production employees working within the rubber products manufacturing companies in Colombo District. And data analysis has been done by using SPSS software: descriptive statistics, correlations and regressions have been carried out. Further, it analyzed the link between the use of technology such as automation and digital tools which are using of production level employees for stress management and its impacts made by stress management on job satisfaction. Findings from the research prove that there is no positive relationship between the technology intervention on stress management. And the relationship between technology intervention and the job satisfaction is positively accepted. When it comes to the mediating effect results, the technology has a significant impact on stress management through job Satisfaction. According to recommendations, the study is completed with options for firms to adopt and test that embrace their technological innovations as part of human resource-strategizing operations to create a healthier work environment and performance improvement within their organization.

    FACTORS AFFECTING THE WORK LIFE BALANCE OF WOMEN IN EXECUTIVE LEVEL IN THE ABC APPAREL COMPANY

    Work Life Balance is a crucial factor in the world of work when playing multiple roles while being one person. Keeping a good balance between work and life is very important in this static environment. So, for that we should have a clear understanding regarding how the work-life balance can be achieved. This is very crucial specially for women in the modern world of work. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the Work Life Balance of executive level women in ABC apparel company. In addition to that, this study intends to contribute to filling the literature gap by looking into the level of work life balance of women. Although in literature, very few studies have examined to identify this impact, when it comes to Sri Lankan settings, there were not many research findings. The study was conducted as a quantitative and cross- sectional research study. The data were collected through an online survey with the help of self- administered questionnaires using a google form. Simple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. The independent variables were the technology, commute time, health work life balance initiatives while the dependent variable was the level of employee work life balance. The sample was chosen using a stratified sampling technique, and the final sample included 80 executive-level women employees from ABC apparel company. The results showed a positive impact of Technology, Commute Time, Health and Work Life Balance Initiatives on Work Life Balance. Furthermore, this study raises the need for companies to look at their employees’ work life balance with a more serious and holistic approach. Ultimately, it is recommended that a holistic, gender sensitive approach to promote work life balance is needed. Recognizing the existing challenges faced by the executive level women and promoting solutions for those identified challenges is also crucial to create a sustainable environment which promote both individual well-being and the organizational success.
