    IMPACT OF DIGITAL DETOXING ON EMPLOYEE WELLBEING: A STUDY OF EXECUTIVE LEVEL EMPLOYEES IN IT INDUSTRY, SRI LANKA

    This study investigates the impact of digital detoxing practices on employee well-being among IT professionals in Sri Lanka. With the increasing prevalence of digital technologies in the workplace, concerns have arisen regarding the potential negative impacts of excessive digital usage on employee health and well-being. This research aims to investigate the impact of digital detoxing practices, which involve conscious reduction or abstinence from digital technologies for a period of time, and employee well-being. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire.The population consists of the employees who are working as a executives in IT Industry, in Colombo district withing sri lanka. Sample size is 192. The study use SPSS Software for analyze the data. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation between digital detoxing practices and employee well-being. Regression analysis indicated that digital detoxing practices significantly explained a substantial portion of the variance in employee well-being. These findings suggest that promoting and encouraging digital detoxing practices can be an effective strategy for enhancing the overall well-being of IT professionals. The study contributes to a growing body of research on the impact of digital technology on employee well-being and highlights the importance of incorporating digital well-being strategies in the workplace.

    IMPACT OF REMOTE WORK ON EMPLOYEE JOB PERFORMANCE A STUDY OF REMOTE WORKING EXECUTIVES AT ABC COMPANY

    The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of remote Work on Employee job performance. In addition to that, this study intends to contribute to filling the literature gap by looking into the impact of remote work on Employee job performance. Although in western literature, very few studies have examined to identify this impact, when it comes to Sri Lankan settings, there were not many research findings. The study was conducted as a quantitative and cross-sectional research study. The data were collected with the help of self-administered questionnaires. Simple regression analysis was used to test the study hypotheses. The independent variable is remote work , while the dependent variable is employee job performance. Primary data was collected from ABC company in Sri Lanka. The sample was chosen using a (Non probability sampling – convenience sampling) sampling technique, and the final sample included (80executive-level) employees from a (specific ABC company). Data were analyzed using correlation and regression with the aid of SPSS. Analyzed results showed a negative impact of remote Work on Employee job performance. The study results underlined the potential negative impact of remote Work on Employee job performance. Furthermore, this study raises the need for companies to look at their employee’s job performance with a more serious and holistic approach.

    THE IMPACT OF WORK FROM HOME ON EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY WITH THE MEDIATING EFFECT OF EMPLOYEE MENTAL WELL-BEING AT ABC IT COMPANY IN SRI LANKA

    The study primarily focuses on how work from home affects employee productivity at ABC IT Company in Sri Lanka. Employee mental well-being serves as a mediator on the relationship between work from home and employee productivity. In addition to that, this study aims to bridge that gap by examining the impact of work from home on employee productivity among software developers in IT industry in Sri Lanka, with employee mental well-being acting as a mediator in the relationship. Although there is enough literature on work from home, employee productivity and employee mental well-being in the other countries. There is less research in Sri Lankan context to test the relationship between work from home on employee productivity and the mediating effect of employee mental well-being, especially in IT Industry in Sri Lanka. This research is deductive research and was conducted using a survey research strategy and quantitative research method. Software developers of ABC IT Company were chosen as the population of the study. The sample size was 163, data collection was done through a standardized questionnaire and simple random sampling technique was applied to select the participants. A google form was created and distributed to collect data. The number of employees who responded was 166 out of 175 employees. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), version 20.0 was used as a tool for data analysis and both descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to analyze data. Findings of the analysis reveal that there is a strong positive correlation between work from home and employee productivity. Furthermore, a significant impact is found from work from home on employee mental well-being, employee mental well-being on employee productivity, work from home on employee productivity and employee mental well-being mediated the relationship between work from home and productivity in the selected study domain.

    BALANCING ACT: HOW FLEXIBLE WORK SHAPES JOB SATISFACTION IN IT INDUSTRY IN SRI LANKA

    Job satisfaction is important for organizations to achieve success, and work-life balance helps to achieve job satisfaction. It is important to examine the impact of flexible working arrangements on job satisfaction, as it is a major workplace change in the modern business world. Although scholars have already examined the effect of flexible working arrangements and their outcomes, there is less research in the context of Sri Lanka. Thus, this study aims to examine the impact of flexible working arrangements on job satisfaction through the mediation effect of work-life balance. This research study was conducted as a cross-sectional study with a quantitative research design and data collected from 169 executive-level employees in three IT companies in Western Province, Sri Lanka. Hypotheses were tested using linear regression with the aid of Andrew F. Hayes's process for SPSS. The findings of the study revealed that there is a significant impact of flexible working arrangements on job satisfaction. Moreover, work-life balance mediates the relationship between flexible working arrangements and job satisfaction. Their findings inform the literature by emphasizing the importance of work-life balance in enhancing job satisfaction and offering valuable insights for Sri Lankan organizations to effectively implement flexible working arrangements.

    THE IMPACT OF REMOTE WORKING ON MENTAL WELLBEING WITH MEDIATION ROLE OF WORK LIFE BALANCE OF IT PROFESSIONALS IN WESTERN PROVINCE

    The purpose of this research is to identify the impact of remote working on the mental wellbeing of IT professionals in the Western Province of Sri Lanka with the mediation role of work life balance. In addition to that, this study intends to contribute to filling the knowledge gap by looking into the relationship between remote working and mental wellbeing of IT professionals. Although there is enough literature on remote working and mental wellbeing, the literature context focusing the IT industry and Sri Lankan context is less. This research is deductive (theory testing) research. This research was conducted using a survey research strategy and quantitative research method. The employees of the IT companies within the Western Province which are registered in SLASSCOM were chosen as the population of the study. The sample size was 375, data collection was done through a self-administered questionnaire and simple random sampling technique. A Google Form was created and distributed to collect data. The number of employees who responded was 393 and 375 were considered for conducting the research further and 18 responses were discarded due to incompletion. Both descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation and regression, were used to analyze data. In addition, process macro was used to find the mediation effect of work life balance. The results indicate that remote working has a positive impact on the mental wellbeing of IT professionals while work life balance does not specifically mediate the relationship between remote working and mental wellbeing.

    THE IMPACT OF TRAINING ON EXECUTIVE EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT XYZ TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED

    This study investigates the impact of training on executive employee performance at XYZ Technologies Private Limited, a renowned organization in the Information Technology industry of Sri Lanka. This study addresses the significant knowledge gap in how training impacts the executive employee performance at XYZ Technologies Private Limited. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing a structured questionnaire to collect data from 300 executive employees selected based on stratified systematic sampling. On-the-Job Training and Off the Job Training was identified as the dimensions of the independent variable and the results revealed a weak positive correlation between on-the-job training and performance whilst a negative relationship between off the job training and performance. The findings underscore how important it is to maintain a balanced approach with both on the job and off the job training and also to consider the impact of other factors such as leadership and culture on the employee performance. Moreover, this study recommends further research to explore with a sample with more demographic differences and explore the other factors that can affect executive employee performance.

    IMPACT OF SUSTAINABLE HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON EMPLOYEE MENTAL WELL- BEING IN A LEADING IT COMPANY IN SRI LANKA

    The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of sustainable human resource management (SHRM) practices on employee mental wellbeing. The study was conducted as a cross-sectional and quantitative study. The data was gathered with the help of self-administered questionnaires. Simple regression analysis was used to test the study hypotheses. The dependent variable is employee mental wellbeing, while the independent variables are diversity and inclusion, flexible work arrangements and work life balance. Primary data was gathered from the selected leading IT company in Sri Lanka. The sample was chosen using a stratified sampling technique, and the final sample included 360 employees from the selected leading IT company in Sri Lanka. Data were analyzed using correlation and regression with the aid of SPSS. Analyzed results showed a positive impact of diversity and inclusion, flexible work arrangements and work life balance on employee mental wellbeing.
