    Job Satisfaction among Public Library Professionals: a Gender base Comparison

    The purpose of the study is to examine gender base job satisfaction among Public library professionals in Anuradhapura District .Survey method was carried to achieve the goal. Questionnaire was used as the data collection tool. The study shows both positive and negative signs of satisfaction among the professionals. This paper may benefit Government Authority by encouraging librarians to contribute more to their jobs and may help them in their personal growth and development.

    Library and Information Science (LIS) education is 100 years old traditional field and remarkable achievement in the administration of the library and tremendous services to the user community. Curriculum develops the students through various ways like teaching, learning methods, instructional design, and internship cum training during the studies, and extension activities. This paper will discuss the LIS Education in India, Committees for the development of LIS Curriculum, Challenges for implementation of new curriculum, Impact of ICT in LIS Education. This paper concludes that the government should initiate National Knowledge committee’s recommendations and appoint the committee to review the curriculum the present trends

    This paper aims to ascertain the ICT skills among the library professionals of Tamil Nadu Universities. It reveals about the use of application software, library automation software, institutional repository software, advanced search techniques used, the level of efficiency in tracking the exact information to fulfill the needs of the users, use of ICT based resources and services and confidence of the library professionals in handling various ICT tools.
