    Analytical study on the “śarīra”in Ayurveda and siksasamuccaya

    In Ayurveda medical science the term “śarīra” has been explained in different context. Eg.śarīraracanā,śarīrakriyā, gharbhaśarīra,etc. Ayurveda texts define the composition of human body as“śarīraracana” This is similar to the Term: anatomy which western medicine uses for the same idea, namelyśarīraracanā.Anatomy is the branch of biology concerned with the study of the structure of organisms and their parts. It includes the appearance and position of the various parts, the materials from which they are composed, their locations and their relationships with other parts. According toçikñäsamuccayabody isnot a single entity but a composite of several different parts.It is the house of thousads of impurities and mental cocepts (saìkalpa), and urine, saliva, mucus, faecal matter, phlegm etc. are items stored in it. Not only it doesn't have a creator but it has not been established in fixed location either. It comes in to existence as a consequence of the sexual union of male and female. Putrification, decay, moldering, degeneration etc. are it's principal qualities. Ayurveda holds the view that śarīracombined with ätmä is exhibited the features caitanya, and combination of çaréra mänasa and ätmä is known astridaëòa orpuruña.This study attemptsto analyse the attitudes which Ayurveda texts and çikñäsamuccaya hold towards the concepts of śarīra.

    Chandas (Prosody) in Ayurveda: With Special Reference to Charaka Samhita

    This research is about Chandas in Ayurveda. Chandas refers to one of the six Vedangas or limbs of Vedic studies. The study of Ayurveda as a Upaveda and Chandas as a Vedanga was collateral. The Chandas are developed by the Vedic schools, which were notable for including both linear and non-linear systems. It is the study of poetic metres in Ayurveda. This field of study was centered to the Charaka Samhitha. Charaka Samhitha is one of the main classics in Ayurveda. The commentators of Charaka Samhita have not mentioned the types of Chandas in context. The aim of this study is to identify the Chandas mentioned in Charaka Samhita and its syllable structure. Data which was compiled in this research has been elaborately arranged with the relevant illustration and in logical order. And data has been categorised in a precise and understandable way. Each Chandas has its own rhythm. The Ayurveda text were written mostly in simple and concise style known as „Suthra‟ and in combined form of both prose and verse. Prose is not tightening by akshara, maathra, gathi and yathi. On the other hand verse is bound by some rules. Based on the above facts it can be concluded that with the help of Chandas, the Ayurveda „Suthra‟ was preserved in its original form. This research gives a grater prospect to the researchers who are interested in undertaking a deep study of the Chandas.

    The role of woman as depicted in Ayurveda classics

    The character of woman is defined in different aspects in pursue of various background. By means of picturesque paintings, sculptures and statues, the great virtuosos examine the true nature of woman when the poets elegantly eulogize the beauty of woman whereas extremists rigorously criticize. Although, Females who play diverse roles for the well-being of the entire society haven't been given the adequate priority by religions. The contribution for the betterment of the world is unavoidable impact whereas it unable to justify the position given even in the present society. The role of a woman has advanced significantly through aesthetic and medical fields. In the medical point of view, Ayurveda has shown that motherhood of the female is laid in her physical structure. Substantial researche haven't been done on the concept of the role of woman on the basis of Ayurveda literature in addition to few endeavours. In Ayurveda medical point of view, it is to be discussed that the nature of the female character. Literary study, methodology pertaining to the topic was compiled and scrutinized from the Vṛhatrai and Laghutrai ;Caraka Saṁhitā, Suṣrutasaṁhitā Aṣtāngahṛdayasaṁhitā etc on concept of femininity in Ayurveda. Relevant data is accumulated by means of texts compiled by great ancient sages. One of the sages (Acārya Caraka) has explained, the person should not insult women and should not have too much reliance upon them. Furthermore, one should not confide secrets in them and no one should give them authority indiscriminately. In addition to these facts, vital factors that help to have a strong relationship are discussed significantly. This is not only an interested field but also the essential discovery for the time being. By dint of innovative impacts of this research will create important position in the entire society for the role of the woman.
