Abstract: The major purpose of this paper is to figure out the specialty and subtle nuance of arth?ntrarany?sa among the other ornaments of sense; artha-alankaras (henceforth OS). In order to clarify that, substantial proofs will be adduced from apt source materials. As the oriental poetry specifically indicates, two factors contribute to reinforce the aesthetic significance of the structure of a stanza. One of them connects with the phonetic aspect while the other one deals with the semantic facet of the stanza. A considerable amount of OSs can be seen in Sanskrit poetical literature. However, as a consequence of the subtle resemblance of many of these OSs, they are fairy hard to differentiate from each other. Among these Oss, the 'ornament of substantiation' holds a significant place and, it has been illustrated with diverse examples in many oriental poetical works.
