Abstract: The main objective of this research study is to investigate the usefulness of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education in vocational education and training sector in Sri Lanka. It is at high importance that vocational education and training in Sri Lanka, both as a vital part of our education system and for its industrial competitiveness. The research critically analyses the present structure and process of ICT education on vocational education and training sector in Sri Lanka. According to the research findings the factors; quality of the ICT education, qualifications and competencies of the academic staff, ICT education facilities, and timely updated course syllabus are highly effecting the usefulness of ICT education on Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. To achieve higher growth in the ICT education in vocational education and training sector, in future years, this paper concludes with a set of recommendations.
