Abstract: Wireless Mesh network architecture and its importance as a n alternative Wi-Fi networking, applications of mesh networks, and methods of implementing mesh networks are discussed in the present paper. CINEC play ground was selected as the test bed of this study. Results of the test cases which were carried out to determine link quality source routing, data throughput and multi-hop function of the mesh networks with the aid of laptops and external USB Wi-Fi dongles and future expansions of the wireless mesh networks with 802.11.s standard are also described.
