Abstract: Sri Lanka and China have very old diplomatic and foreign relations. There are also several commercial projects in Sri Lanka recently undertaken by the Republic of China. It also economically, politically and socially very important. The study is an experimental study on the Hambantota port which is a unique commercial development project undertaken by the republic of china. This will improve the strategic as well as the positive orientation of the noneconomic and domestic foreign relations. With the acquisition of the Hambantota port by the Chinese Harbor Company (CHC), it is evident that Sri Lanka is in a serious strategic crisis. The research objective of this research is to study the recent diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and China and to study the Chinese projects implemented in Sri Lanka and the impact of such projects. The research problem is, what is the impact of recent Chinese Diplomatic projects between Sri Lanka and China. The research method of this study was qualitative research and observation method. Studies show that china became the largest development pioneer in Sri Lanka in present. As a development project, the Hambantota port is economically weak, and the acquisition of the port has had a major impact on the economy of Sri Lanka as well as on the sovereign and the security of the state. Sri Lankan’s public resources have not been properly utilized. Furthermore, the Hambantota port also has handed an impact on India diplomatically. Sri Lanka is facing an unbearable economic crisis and a negative impact on the economy. Conclusion it is clear that this project will have an impact on Sri Lanka’s sovereign and economy.
