Abstract: Planting is one of the successful methods of environment recreation. The importance of avenue planting beside the expressway is now widely recognized as agreeable places for travelers. This study examines the impact of avenue planting on the environment recreation of Colombo-Katunayake Expressway. The research was based on primary and secondary data. Also, the mixed method has been used for this research and data collecting was based on the semi-structured questionnaire, interviews, and direct observation. Secondary data collected through related books, magazines, research articles, and the internet. Data analysis were done by using the quantitative and qualitative method. According to analyzed 70% of respondents state that the beauty of the avenue planting is a pleasing sight to the mind as well 75% of the sample were said that the traveling through expressway relaxes minds and creates good thoughts. Also, 20% of the sample would cause accidents. However, Avenue planting needs to establish further enhanced and this will create happy and free traveling to people as well it helps to create a free mind and a blue-green environment.
