Abstract: Danthaveshta is one of the main periodontal disease which mentioned in Ayurveda medical system. It is simulated with the "Suppurative gingivitis". According to recent statistics, 10-15% of world adult population was suffering from this condition. Hence, there is a need to evaluate the role of —theother alternative techniques for the management of this disease so as to minimize recurrence, make it cost effective and safety The present study aimed at evaluating the effect Of traditional herbal' formulation in the management Of Danthaveshta, which described in Thalpatepiliyam. In the clinical study 30 patients were selected in age between 16-60 years irrespective Of their Sex, religion, Occupation and habitat etc. They were divided equally in two groups by using simple random sampling method. Group A was treated with traditional formula with Prathyakshadhathripanthaya and Kaishoraguli , also group B was treated with Prathyakshadhathripanthaya and Kaishoraguli . No one has complained about any experience about allergy, infections or discomfort at any time that they have encountered during the follow-up period. Group A was showed significant results in the improvements Of Rakthasrava. Puyasrava. danthashopa, Krishnatha, Mukhadurgandha and Shoola. (p<0.05) Group B showed significant results only Rakthasravaandshopa. But other symptoms were not Significantly reduced (p>0.05). These results were proved that the traditional herbal formula has worked well on reducing Symptoms Of danthaveshta as a pratisarana.
