dc.description.abstract | One of notable new trends that can be obviously seen in Sri Lanka is many people are struggling to put all the doctrinal concepts and teaching of the Theravada Buddhism in a global context. Even though the Buddhism is open for the scrutiny, it is worthwhile to examine the methodology and basis they use for this purpose. That is to say, one must have a plausible proofs and substantial basis in order to perform this task flawlessly. Apart from a sound methodology, one could possess a proper acquaintance in the Pali Canon, context, commentarial exegeses, parallel occurrences, Semantics, Pragmatics etc are some of necessary factors for this purpose. Regrettably, many of sociologists, psychologists, psychotherapists, counselors, scientists, anthropologists do not seem to care for any of indispensable factors mentioned above. | en_US |
