dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: Septic arthritis of sacroiliac joint is a rare manifestation. Diagnosis is often challenging due to nonspecific symptoms. We present a case report of a 68 years old woman with septic arthritis of the right side sacroiliac joint due to Streptococcus pyogenes. Magnetic resonance imaging is increasingly becoming the most sensitive imaging modality for the detection of sacroiliitis. Proper antibiotic treatment often results in complete resolution of the disease. KEYWORDS: septic arthritis, sacroiliac joint, Streptococcus pyogenes, uncommon cause, MRI | en_US |
