    Determinants of Students’ Satisfaction towards Online Learning during the Pandemic of COVID-19: A Study Related to Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka

    This study investigates that the determinants of students’ satisfaction in online learning. This study was carried out as a cross sectional field study among a sample of 181 undergraduates in Faculty of Commerce and management Studies, University of Kelaniya. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample and primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression and correlation analysis were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study found that learners’ characteristics, instructor, technological characteristics and course design are positively influencing students’ satisfaction Further, study findings are very important in the theoretically and practically for the relevant parties in education system. This study helps for educationists and academics to identify factors which will enhance students’ satisfaction in online classes during the COVID pandemic. Cross validation of the findings of this study to be done in different context of education system and different cultural background comparatively among bigger sample in subsequent studies recommended which will add more insights to the substance of the present study.

    Factors Influencing the Behavioral Intention of University Undergraduates on E-Learning During COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence from University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka

    The purpose of this study was to assess the factors influencing on behavioral intention of e-learning of undergraduates related with university of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. This study is carried out as a quantitative explanatory research work. Further, the sample is selected randomly and used simple random sampling technique. This is a cross-industry descriptive research & standard questionnaire was used to collect primary data through a survey. Questionnaires are distributed to a sample of 322 of executive employees who are currently working in banks. To analyze received questionnaires data, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) was used. To interpret data analyzed and to obtain the result graphical charts, descriptive statistical techniques such as mean, mode, standard deviation and histograms, correlation and coefficient, simple regression analysis and residual analysis were used. To test the relationship between variables Pearson correlation technique analysis was used. Simple regression analysis was used to identify the degree of the impact of the independent variable on dependent variable was analyzed by using R square value. And it was found to be that there is a significant moderate positive relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, hedonic motivation and work life quality on behavioral intention of e-learning. The present study would provide the direction to educational institutions, educational policy makers & other non-government educational institutions.

    Impact of Awareness and Usage of E-Learning Platforms on Academic Satisfaction: A Study of Final Year Management Undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka

    With the development of Information Communication Technology, e-learning become more popular than classroom-based learning in worldwide. When Covid-19 pandemic came, it directly affected to the education system in every country in the world. Higher education, institutions and schools in Sri Lanka started to use 100% e-learning based system with this pandemic. Hence, it is more significant that investigating the factors that impact the academic satisfaction of the students. This study investigates the impact of awareness and usage of e-learning platforms on academic satisfaction: with special reference to final year management undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. This study was carried out as a cross sectional study among a sample of 251 final year undergraduates from the University of Kelaniya. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample and primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression and correlation analysis were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). It is found that, there is a positive and significant impact of awareness and usage of e-learning platforms on academic satisfaction of final year management undergraduates at university of Kelaniya. Further findings of the study are expected to be more significant for universities (undergraduates, academic, and administration staff) and all government institutions for their future decision making. Conduct the subsequent studies is recommended in different universities with different categories among a larger sample for the purpose of add more insights to the substance of the present study.

A simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample and primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression, and correlation analysis were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings will provide valuable insights for educators and policymakers in enhancing the effectiveness and accessibility of e-learning platforms for students. Conducting subsequent studies is recommended in different universities with different categories among a larger sample to add more insights into the substance of the present study. This paper mainly discusses Life Cycle Perspective Cost (LCC) and other Green and Sustainable evaluation practices regulated in health sector institutes in the European Union (EU) and reviews the possible adoption of those green and sustainable concepts to public procurement processes in Sri Lanka for cost-effective Public Procurement. The Adoption of green would maximize the value of public money while minimizing damage to the environment and maximizing economic, and social benefits to the public health sector in Sri Lanka.

    Impact of Employee Perception of the Compensation System on Employee Job Retention: Study in a Selected Leading Bank in Sri Lanka

    This study is investigating the impact of employee perception of the compensation system on employee job retention of the selected leading bank in Sri Lanka. This study was carried out as a cross-sectional field study among a sample of 103 bank staff in the selected bank’s head office. A simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample and primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression, and correlation analysis were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). It was found that there is a significant impact of employee perception of the compensation system on employee job retention of the banking staff in the selected leading bank in Sri Lanka. Further, results show that financial and non-financial compensation has a positive and significant impact on the job retention of employees. Further, it is expected that these findings are very important in theoretically and practically for the relevant parties in the banking industry. Cross-validation of the findings of this study to be done in different industries and different cultures comparatively among a bigger sample in subsequent studies is recommended, which will add more insights to the substance of the present study.

    Impact of Participative Decision Making on Employee Job Satisfaction: Study of Operational Level Employees in a Leading Apparel Organization in Sri Lanka

    Participation in decision making (PDM) is one of the significant current Organizational-related factors. The current research study is trying to find the impact of participative decision making on job satisfaction. The research was conducted based on the Sri Lankan context and there having low evidence under the selected research area. The current researcher is trying to fill that empirical gap. This study was carried out as a cross sectional field study among a sample of 271 operational level employees in a leading apparel organization in Sri Lanka. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample, and primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression, and correlation analysis were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). It was found that, there is a significant impact of employee willingness, employee capacity, work life balance, employee commitment, on job satisfaction among operational level employees. Further, results showed that employee willingness, employee capacity, work life balance, employee commitment has positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Further, it is expected that these findings are very important theoretically and practically for the relevant parties in manufacturing companies. Cross validation of the findings of this study to be done in different industries and different cultures comparatively among a bigger sample in subsequent studies is recommended, which will add more insights to the substance of the present study.

    The Impact of Perceived Satisfaction of Organizational Climate on Intention to Retain of Nursing Staff in a Leading Hospital in Sri Lanka

    Due to the rapidly changing business environment, talented employees are essential to combat the competitive edge successfully. Even though many more years have passed, organizations continually focus on sustaining labour resources. The extant literature has sufficiently elaborated on the causes of keeping workers in different contexts. Still, more attention needs to be drawn to their intention to stay with a company due to their satisfaction regarding the climate of work premises in the Sri Lankan context. Thus, the present study attempts to assess the impact of perceived satisfaction of organizational climate on intention to retain with special reference to a leading hospital in Sri Lanka. The study uses quantitative research. The primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire, and data were collected via an online questionnaire. A simple random sampling technique was used as the sampling technique and followed the cross-sectional method. 118 nursing staff in a selected hospital was selected as the sample respondents. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to conduct all the statistical analyses relevant to the study. The goal of the study is to test concepts known from theory using new empirical data; hence the study adheres to a deductive research approach. Building on the findings of this research, it is found that there is a significant impact of perceived satisfaction of organizational climate on the retention intention of employees. Therefore, it is recommended that employers and other relevant parties strategically innovate ideas to enhance employee intention to retain by facilitating a favourable, healthy organizational climate that enriches labourers' satisfaction. Moreover, the study's findings are expected to be more significant for managers, employees, industrial psychologists, future researchers, hospitals, and the entire healthcare industry. Furthermore, it is recommended to conduct subsequent studies in various sectors by considering other affected organizational climate factors in different employment groups by expanding into a large sample.

    Impact of Perception of Online Recruitment Websites on Behavioral Intention of Job Seekers: Evidence from the Graduates of University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka

    The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of perception of online recruitment websites on the behavioral intention of graduate students in University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. This study is carried out as a quantitative explanatory research work. Further, the sample is selected randomly and used simple random sampling technique. This is a correlational research study & standard questionnaire was used to collect primary data through a survey. Questionnaires are distributed to a sample of 215 of fresh graduate students who successfully completed the relevant programmes in 2020. To analyze received questionnaires data, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) was used. To interpret data analyzed and to obtain the result graphical charts, descriptive statistical techniques such as mean, mode, standard deviation and histograms, correlation and coefficient, simple regression analysis and residual analysis were used. To test the relationship between variables Pearson correlation technique analysis was used. Simple regression analysis was used to identify the degree of the impact of the independent variable on dependent variable was analyzed by using R square value. And it was found that there is a significant high positive relationship between perception of online recruitment websites & the behavioral intention. Information quality, prospective career information, perceived usefulness, system quality, perceived ease of use & perceived trustworthiness are the dimensions of independent variable and all those were significant with the behavioral intention. The present study would provide the direction to fresh graduates, online job providers, organizations and to future researchers.

    Impact of psychological contract on employee outcomes of job satisfaction and organizational commitment: evidence from a leading apparel manufacturing company in Sri Lanka

    The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of psychological contract on employee outcomes of job satisfaction and organizational commitment in a leading apparel company. Companies that invest more effort in achieving higher level psychological contract between their employees, employer and organization have satisfied and committed employees. The research design is descriptive in nature. A simple random sampling has been used to select the sample. The participant in the study was 50 executive level employees in a leading apparel company in Sri Lanka. Standard questionnaire is distributed to collect data. Based on the analysis, researcher identified that there is a strong positive relationship between psychological contract and employee outcomes of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. As well as based on findings researchers established that there is a significant impact of psychological contract and employee outcomes of job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

    The Impact of Psychological Contract on Organizational Citizenship Behaviour: A Study of Executive Level Employees in a Leading Insurance Company in Sri Lanka

    This study mainly focuses on the relationship between psychological contracts and organizational citizenship behaviour. Data was gathered from 120 executive level employees in a leading insurance company to test the hypotheses. To determine factors relating to employees' organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) and psychological contracts, analysis using SPSS software was conducted. The results of statistical analysis support the idea that different psychological contract elements have an impact on organizational citizenship behaviour. The outcome is consistent with numerous earlier investigations into the psychological contract and its connection to OCB. The study offers managers insightful information about the psychology of employees toward various psychological contract dimensions and the extent to which these elements influence employees' organizational citizenship behaviour.

    The Impact of The Perceived Usefulness of Training and Development Practices on Organizational Citizenship Behaviour in a Leading Tire Manufacturing Company in Sri Lanka

    The success of any organization, anywhere in the globe, is greatly influenced by organizational citizenship behaviour. Employees are conscious of the demands made of them at work. Almost all workers will complete their responsibilities in a way that benefits the business and management. Additionally, they will refrain from bad actions. Organizational citizenship refers to the practice or action of employees going beyond what is expected of them. Most HRM practices have a direct impact on OCB when it comes to HRM and OCB. Among these, organizational training and development methods have a significant impact on OCB. Based on that this study investigates the impact of the perceived usefulness of training and development practices on organization citizenship behaviour. This study was carried out as a cross sectional study among a sample of 130 executive level employees from a leading tire manufacturing company in Sri Lanka. A simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample, and primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression and correlation analysis were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results show that training and development practices have a positive effect on the organization citizenship behaviour. Besides, results indicated that a significant positive relationship between training & development practices and organization citizenship behaviour. The findings of the study are expected to be more significant, especially for executive level employees and managers who are implementing training and development practices in the manufacturing sector. Conducting the subsequent studies is recommended in different organizations in different industries with different categories of employees with a larger sample for adding more insights to the substance of the present study.

    Impact of Work from Home on Employee Job Performance during the COVID-19 Epidemic: Mediating Effect of Job Motivation

    The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of working from home on job performance during the COVID-19 pandemic of non-managerial employees of a leading finance company in Sri Lanka. This study is carried out as a quantitative explanatory research work. Further, the sample is selected randomly and used simple random sampling technique. This is a cross-industry descriptive research & standard questionnaire was used to collect primary data through a survey. Questionnaires are distributed to a sample of 126 of non-managerial employees who are currently working in the leading finance company. To analyze received questionnaires data, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) was used. To interpret data analyzed and to obtain the result graphical charts, descriptive statistical techniques such as mean, mode, standard deviation and histograms, correlation and coefficient and simple regression analysis were used. To test the relationship between variables Pearson correlation technique analysis was used. Simple regression analysis was used to identify the degree of the impact of the independent variable on dependent variable. This study found that working from home has a significant impact on the job performance of non-managerial employees of the selected finance company in Sri Lanka. It was also found that job motivation acts as a mediating variable between working from home and employee job performance. The analysis of the study proves that job motivation is a partial mediator. These findings are expected to be of theoretical and practical importance to relevant parties in the finance sector. The present study would provide the direction to HR policy makers, employees and to future researchers.

    Impact of Work Life Balance on Employees' Job Satisfaction: A Study of Executive Level Employees in a Leading Telecommunication Company in Sri Lanka

    The purpose of this research is to identify the impact of Work Life Balance on Employees' Job Satisfaction in a Leading Telecommunication Company in Sri Lanka. In addition to that, this study intends to contribute to filling the knowledge gap by looking into the relationship between work life balance and employees' job satisfaction. Although the relationship and impact between work life balance and employees' job satisfaction are established in western literature and very few studies have examined these with employee job satisfaction in the Sri Lankan context, especially in the telecommunication industry and in executive level positions. This study explored the impact of those variables among executive level employees who work in a leading telecommunication company in Sri Lanka. This research is deductive research. This research was conducted using a survey research strategy and quantitative research method. Executive level employees of ABC Company were chosen as the population of the study. Simple random sampling was used as a sampling technique for this study, and the Morgan table was used to calculate the sample size. Accordingly, the sample size was 130 observations and used primary data as the data source, data collection was done through a standard questionnaire, and a Google form was created and distributed to collect data. The number of employees who responded was 121 among 130 employees. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), version 23.0 was used as a tool for data analysis and both descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation and regression were used to analyse data. The results indicate that work life balance has a significant impact on job satisfaction.

    Work life balance is a timely significant area of Human Resource Management and has become a top priority for workers everywhere. This study is mainly focused on discussing the effect of work life balance on job performance among executive level employees in a leading apparel company in Sri Lanka. In today’s dynamic environment, work life balance has become one of the major issues faced by many employees all over the world including in the apparel industry. Maintaining work life balance is an issue increasingly recognized as of strategic importance to both organization and employees. The research problem addressed in this study is to investigate the impact of work life balance on job performance among executives in the apparel industry in Sri Lanka. Work Life Balance is a major factor to increase employee performance as well as organizational performance. Employee performance is very important for any organization to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. Selected leading apparel Company is not reaching the expected performance level, and it is clear to have a performance gap. The main objective of this study is to find the relationship between work life balance on executive level employee’s job performance. The research study explores the Impact of Work-Life Balance on employee job performance. Work life balance is selected independent variable, and employee performance is the dependent variable. A simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample, and the sample size was 110 executive level employees in a leading apparel company in Sri Lanka. The required primary data were collected through a standard questionnaire, and correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to test the hypotheses. Data were analyzed using SPSS software. It was found that Work Life Balance, Employee Assistant Programs, Technology Advancement, Working Environment and Workplace Stress positively impact on employee job performance. The researcher also found that there is a relationship between work-life balance and employee job performance.

    Perceived Effectiveness of Employee Grievance Handling Procedure on Employee Job Performance: Study of a Selected Salt Manufacturing Company in Sri Lanka

    This study investigates the impact of perceived effectiveness of grievance handling on employee job performances. Hence this research was carried out as a cross sectional field study among a sample of 141 staff in the selected salt manufacturing company. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample and primary data were collected using a standard questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression and correlation analysis were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). It was found that, there is a significant impact of perceived effectiveness of grievance handling procedure on employee job performance of the staff in the selected salt manufacturing company in Sri Lanka. Further, results showed that timeliness, structure of the grievance handling procedure, justice and participation has positive and significant impact on job performance of employees. Furthermore, these findings are expected to be extremely important for the relevant parties in the food manufacturing industry, both theoretically and practically. Cross validation of the findings of this study in different industries and cultures, compared among a larger sample, is recommended in future studies, which will add more insights to the substance of the current study.

    The Relationship between Training and Development and Employee Performance of Executive Level Employees in Apparel Organizations.

    Even though organizations are promoting different training programmes for executive-level employees; there is no mechanism to ensure how it impacts to employees’ performance. Hence, this study attempts to identify the relationship between training and development and employee performance of executive level employees of Apparel organizations in Si Lanka. The study was quantitative and a cross-sectional survey where data was collected through a structured questionnaire. Simple random sampling technique was applied to select the sample, and the sample consisted of 150 executive level employees. The data were analyzed using correlation and regression analytical tools. Findings revealed that training and development is positively related to employee performance of executive level employees. Based on the findings, the researchers were recommended that the organization should build a correct and logically substantial mechanism to select the employees who are definitely participating to the training program and the organization management should establish a widely spread post-evaluation scheme to evaluate the performance of employees.
