    Adoption of Social Media Technologies in Academic Entrepreneurship and Its Influence on Student Entrepreneurs

    Academic institutions have started recognizing the importance of social media technologies in nurturing academic entrepreneurship. Academic leaders of university entrepreneurial ecosystem have created entrepreneurship education labs and business incubation centers to foster academic entrepreneurs by providing training in new technologies and facilitating them to utilize opportunities from social media technologies for their business startup. Despite of all these initiatives there will be slow progress in student's business startup process. This study aims to investigate the adoption of social media technologies in academic entrepreneurship and how it influences the student's entrepreneur's business startup. This study was aimed to answer two important questions 1. What are the significant issues involving in promoting social media technologies to student's business startup? 2. How do the institutional training on social media technologies will influence the student's business startup? Structured questionnaire was used collect the data from students who are pursuing bachelor and master level courses and also undergone entrepreneurship training. E-mails were sent directly to the students to record the data using convenience sampling.

    Entrepreneurial Marketing Dimensions and Market Performance: A Study on Hotel SMEs

    Small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in hotel industries provide Many employment opportunities and economic growth of the country. SMEs plays a prominent role in all sectors. The study mainly focuses on the entrepreneurial marketing dimensions and market performance of hotel small and medium scale enterprises. A sample of the respondents comprises of owners or managers of Hotel SMEs in All Metropolitan areas are selected for this study. A survey research design was used to collect data from respondents through the use of questionnaire. the main objective of the study is to market performance in hotel SMEs as well as open innovation techniques in hotel SMEs by using of entrepreneurial marketing dimensions. Findings reveal that all the entrepreneurial marketing dimensions of pro-activeness, opportunity-focused, innovation-oriented, customer intensity, resource leveraging, and value creation have a positive relationship with market performance. It is therefore recommended that owners and managers of SME's should be pro-active, aggressive and innovative in design of strategies towards enhancing the market performance in their organization.

    Scholarly Information Input for Quality Research: Initiatives of India

    Higher education in India witnessed tremendous growth after independence with systematic reforms. The success of any organisation lies with quality information and it is treated as most important and valuable asset. Quality assurance and development plays central role in strategic planning in Higher education. The major reason for more information is development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which has made easy to publish and retrieve the documents over the web. There is no much control mechanism to check the relevance of information published over the web has lead to publish more documents, in which relevance of majority of the information is questionable. But, something is better than nothing and there is still some relevant, accurate, timely, updated information is available over the web. Publication of quality research may take more time, but the final output of the results will be useful to the society. On the other hand, more number of low quality publication will work against the system which will hamper the funding and attracting good students community. Quality information is the information, which is perceived and used by the customer. It has certain attributes such as accuracy, relevancy, free from bias, currency, trustworthy, and so on. In order to ensure the quality in research, the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, India has taken some of the measures to be implemented in the Indian University System. This paper discusses about various attributes involved in quality information, its impact on quality research and some of the strategies taken by the UGC for ensuring the quality in higher education research.

    A Study on Factors Influencing the Investment Pattern of Working & Non-Working Women Investors in Share Market

    Behavioral finance is a new approach to financial markets that has emerged in response to the difficulties faced by the traditional paradigm. It focuses on investors behavior and the decision making process. There is a growing literature that suggests an individual's investment decisions which are affected by behavioral biases. Due to high volatility, lack of adequate knowledge, inadequate guidance and many other factors in the share market women generally avoid investing their money in the share market. The main objective of this study are a) To analyse and compare the investment pattern of working and nonworking women investors in share market, b) To examine whether the level of financial literacy have an effect on the investment pattern of working and non-working women investors, c) To assess whether the factor investment experience have an effect on the investment pattern of working and non-working women investors, d) To analyze whether the factor income and risk perception of the investors have an impact on the investment pattern of working and non-working women investors. Primary data will be collected through a questionnaire from women investors who already invested in share market. Judgement sampling will be used for this study.
