Driving Engagement by Promoting Wellbeing: A Study On The Impact of Employee Wellbeing on Employee Engagement With Special Reference to Operational Category Employees of a Leading Finance Company in Sri Lanka

In today’s corporate world, companies striving to improve productivity and foster positive work environments must recognize the complex relationship between employee well-being and engagement. The main purpose of this research study was to assess the impact of employee wellbeing on employee engagement among operational category employees in a selected finance company in Sri Lanka. In addition, research addresses identified gaps in the literature by exploring specific dimensions of well- being and engagement within the finance sector context. The study examines the data collected from a sample of 126 employees using parametric tests, such as simple linear regression and Pearson correlation, to examine hypotheses regarding how employee well-being impacts employee engagement. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.917) and a significant regression model (R Square = 0.841) are shown in the findings, indicating that employee well-being accounts for 84.1% of the variance in employee engagement. The study concludes that, driving employee engagement by promoting physical, mental, social, and financial dimensions of employee well-being via various wellness programs and initiatives, organizations could achieve many positive strategic organizational outcomes such as increased performance, attain new or lost productivity levels, lower turnover & absenteeism, higher levels of commitment, a thriving workplace culture of innovation and collaboration, ultimately leading to sustainable & resilient organizational growth.

The purpose of this research is to identify the impact of the technostress on work-life balance of managerial level employees who worked in apparel industry, Sri Lanka. In addition to that, this study intends to contribute to filling the research gap by looking into the relationship between technostress and work-life balance. Although there is enough literature in the international context, there are lack of studies in Sri Lankan context, especially in the apparel industry. Based on that the study aims to fill this gap by providing special evidence relating to the constructs of technostress and WLB relating to the Apparel industry, Sri Lanka. Technostress was the dependent variable whereas work-life balance was the independent variable in the study. This was conducted as a deductive, quantitative field study. Managerial level employees who work in selected three apparel companies were chosen as the population of the study and the sample size was 171. Data collection was done through a self-administered questionnaire and simple random sampling technique. A Google form was created and distributed to collect data. The number of employees who responded was 190 among 230 employees. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), version 23.0 was used as a tool for data analysis and both descriptive and inferential statistics, namely correlation, regression and independent sample t-test were used to analyze data. The results indicate that there is a significant negative impact of technostress on work-life balance of managerial level employees in apparel industry, Sri Lanka.

The purpose of this research is to identify the impact of the e-leadership on employee job satisfaction of non-executive employee at housecleaning sector. In today’s competitive business world, many companies have gone international to solve problems like keeping employees, working as a team, and reaching their goals. Because of this, we were able to branch out across the world. Recent research has shown that leaders play a crucial role in success by promoting employee output. In Sri Lankan context, a few empirical studies have been conducted with the e- leadership skills that influence employee job satisfaction. There is an empirical knowledge gap exists in the e- leadership skills and employee job satisfaction. Hence, this study attempts to fill this knowledge gap. The objectives of this study is to identify the impact of e- leadership skills that influence employee job satisfaction. To achieve these objectives data was collected from 103 non-executive employees at XYZ Company of Housecleaning sector in simple random sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using descriptive, correlation analyses and multiple regression analysis. The advanced hypotheses were examined using empirical literature and collected data. According to the regression analysis results, E-leadership skills contribute significantly to employee satisfaction in their roles. “A strong relationship was found between the two variables, as well as between the dimensions, and all four hypotheses offered were accepted.

This research delves into the intricate dynamics between organizational factors and brain drain, with a specific emphasis on the moderating influence of the political environment. The study aims to elucidate the relationships among workload, career growth opportunities, incentives, and migration intentions, considering the political environment as a crucial moderator. The primary focus is on understanding how the political environment interacts with organizational factors to influence employees' migration intentions. Workload, career growth opportunities, and incentives serve as pivotal organizational determinants that may affect an individual's decision to migrate. The research acknowledges that the impact of these organizational factors may vary depending on the prevailing political climate, making the political environment a key moderator in this relationship. A comprehensive literature review forms the foundation of the research, integrating theories and empirical findings from organizational behavior, migration studies, and political science. The conceptual framework illustrates the interplay between workload, career growth opportunities, incentives, and migration intentions, moderated by the political environment. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, the study employs surveys and SPSS analysis to collect and interpret data. By exploring the interrelation among these variables, this research seeks to provide nuanced insights into the organizational factors contributing to brain drain and the moderating role of the political environment. The findings aim to inform organizational leaders, policymakers, and researchers about the complex dynamics at play, helping them develop targeted strategies to retain skilled talent in the face of organizational challenges, while considering the broader political context.
