There are several institutional bodies which act against violations of Fundamental Rights. This study is focused on examining whether the public possesses a substantial awareness about the functions of institutions mandated to act against and resolve violations of Fundamental Rights which the main objective.Sub objective of this study is to make public aware of Fundamental Rights, institutions to which they can report violations, and how to get legal assistance. Primary and secondary data have been used for the study. Primary Data were gathered from questionnaires distributed among randomly selected sample of 75 residents from Mudungoda Grama Niladhari Division in Gampaha Divisional Secretariat and they were interviewed individually in order get an idea as their personal attitude regarding the research problem. The secondary data have been collected from related articles, of printed media, websites, and books. The research is mostly based on quantitative data while qualitative aspects also have been revealed for same extent.
