dc.description.abstract | Theproduction of network catchwords in teaching Chinese as second language is accompanied by some social events,and the words and expressions are accepted and widely used by the public in daily communication in a certain period of time.This paper describes the distinct characteristics of such network catchwords such as their wide use, sensitivity to time, interest, reality, symbolism, metaphor, irony, derivation and popularization. The paper also attempts to analyse reasons behind the use of network catchwords in teaching Chinese as a second language, their purpose, function and current situation. Finally, the paper will discuss the importance of including network catchwords into the syllabus and teaching materials. | en_US |
