Abstract: Lanka Mineral Sands (LMS) factory in Pulmoddai produces thorium which emits alpha radiation on decay. Micronuclei (MN) are formed in peripheral blood lymphocytes as a result of exposure to ionizing radiation. MN are used as a marker of biological dosimetry.
