Abstract: ICT dominated all spheres of life. The ICT has very special impact on education. This impact of ICT is noticeable in formal and informal education, traditional and professional education as well as at all levels of education. The most recent influence of the ICT in the field of education is recognized as elearning. During the last few years it has been seen, an almost exponential growth of the digitization and e-resources. The present paper covers concept of e-learning, need of e-learning, characteristics and advantages of e-learning, tools of e-learning, impact of e-learning on Library and information services. E-learning lessons are generally designed to guide students through information or to help students perform in specific tasks. Information based e-Learning content communicates information to the student
