Abstract
The origin of Sinhala Sandesha Kavya is Gampola period. Kotte period became the golden era of Sinhala Sandesha afterwards. Gira Sandeshaya is a good example. Even though the author is unknown, it is known as a brilliant Sandesha Kavya among other books.
