Abstract
Background: Currently, the language translation process has gone beyond traditional human translation and is mixed with mechanization. With the advancement of technology, it can be seen how translators use various applications for the task of language translation. The use of an effective application is very important for a successful translation. Termino Hub is one such. Introduced by the Department of Official Languages, it consists of over three hundred thousand technical terms spread over a number of fields. One such field can be introduced as "Gender and Inclusion". Under that, technical terms related to child protection can be seen. The purpose of this research is to examine the trend of language translation studies students using the Termino Hub application for translating child protection-related texts.
Method: Under the mixed methodology of quantitative and qualitative data collection, a questionnaire was distributed using Google Forms among fifty university students studying the translation studies degree course to obtain primary data related to the research , and interviews were conducted with ten selected students.
Results: The analysis of the data obtained from the research revealed that a large number of students use the Termino Hub application for translating child protection-related texts. It was identified that a very small number use Google Translate. Many people say that the terms related to child protection in Termino Hub are presented very clearly, accurately, with equivalent terms, and clearly representing the field. They say that it facilitates the translation task. The reason given by the students who do not use Termino Hub was their displeasure with the technical errors that sometimes occur during its use.
Conclusion: According to the collected data and the conclusions reached, updating the application, minimizing technical errors, and further expanding the terminology related to the field of Gender and Inclusion can be cited as recommendations for this research, in order to create an opportunity for students to make more accurate translations by increasing the trend of using Termino Hub for translating child protection-related texts.
