Abstract
This research paper provides a comprehensive examination of Climate Smart Agricultural (CSA) technologies and practices implemented with the aim of sustaining food security within the developing regions of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The ever-changing climate significantly impacts various sectors, particularly agriculture, which is the backbone of food production. To mitigate these effects, CSA practices are being adopted on global, regional, and national scales. Consequently, this research paper mainly focuses on the identification of CSA technologies and practices adopted to ensure food availability within developing countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Employing a qualitative research approach and relying on secondary data sources from national and international research papers, institutional reports, and scholarly journals, this study employs thematic analysis for data interpretation. The findings illustrate a plethora of CSA technologies and practices utilized across these developing regions, showcasing various strategies for increasing agricultural productivity. These strategies include the introduction of sustainable technology to farmers in Asia, income enhancement through regenerative solar agriculture, and the utilization of traditional water harvesting techniques in India. Furthermore, African regions have embraced the concept of CSA villages and key approaches to agricultural sustainability. In Ethiopia, the mapping of soil health and the adoption of climate information services have been instrumental in crop diversification within Latin American regions. Additionally, Latin American countries have implemented soil and water conservation practices to bolster their agricultural resilience. The research underscores the widespread implementation of CSA technologies and practices aimed at enhancing food security within the developing countries, emphasizing the critical role of climate-resilient agriculture in these regions.
